In Islamic teachings, to carry out worship which is part of the pillars of Islam and its nature habluminnaullah (dealing directly with Allah, in the form of rituals) it is obligatory to be pure and clean. Not just clean and holy when carrying out ritual worship, more than that Islamic teachings do indeed order the people to always keep themselves clean.
